Bonjour Mon ami! Am I ever glad its Friday afternoon right now- I just finished an exam where I literally wrote out of my…derrier. I swear with EVERY exam I have ever done, everything I study is NOT on it. Seriously. EVERY. EXAM.
Anyway let’s not dwell on that, its almost the WEEKEND! I almost forgot but yesterday was my 100th post! I’m so thankful to have shared it with Amy, who is also making an appearance on here this weekend…I should just rename this Amy Week!
Have you guys heard this recent article about the man who sued his wife over giving birth to ugly children, in particular his daughter? For those unaware, the man successfully sued his wife for $120,000 because she married him without telling him that she had prior it, undergone $100,000 worth of cosmetic surgery. I still don’t know what to think of it….
There has been a trend with Summer approaching for people to decrease their meat consumption and focus on vegetarian sources to ‘optimum health.’ Yes, another fad that they are trying to portray. I just look at it in a humorous way.
Similarly, every front page of any fitness magazine is centralised around burning a certain amount of calories in the shortest amount of time. I should write the Arman Weekly. The cover (boy) for the first issue will be this. BOSS.
I love using the bench press at the gym but I’m always wary about increasing the weights in fear of dropping the bar. If only this could happen…
Now for the recipe. A fair while back, I talked about how I LOVED the smell of cinnamon raisin bread however the taste was always underwhelming. Not that it was bad- its just I always expected to TASTE the cinnamon and actually have more than 5 raisins. Last week, Khushboo posted a recipe for a flatbread she had been (subconsciously) taunting me with for the last couple of months. Since she posted the recipe, I had made it at least once a day!
A few days ago, after leaving my exam I went past a cafe which had the most tempting smell of cinnamon raisin bread. Immediately, the craving struck. Knowing I was not going to go out and buy an entire loaf to be once again disappointed, I decided to see if I could mould the basic flat bread recipe and put a cinnamon raisin spin on it. I wanted the flat bread to be thicker (so I could lather butter on it) and more dense so with abit of kitchen magic, I found success!
5 Minute Cinnamon Raisin flatbread
- 1/4 cup gluten free oat flour
- 1 T coconut flour (or an extra T of flour)
- 1/2 T cinnamon
- 1 T sweetener of choice
- 1/4 cup non dairy milk
- 1 egg white*
- 2 T+ raisins
- In a mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, coconut flour, cinnamon and brown sugar and mix until well combined.
- In a small bowl, mix the milk with the egg white then add to the dry mixture. Mix very well then stir in raisins.
- Heat up the frying pan on very low heat and spray with oil. Pour batter once hot and cover for 2 minutes until edges go crispy then flip and allow to cook for another minute.
- Plate up and lather with a spread of choice (this goes so well with butter!)
- * For a vegan version, add in extra 2 T liquid of choice.
Sooo this rounds off a crazy study filled week for me- I have one exam to go and CAN. NOT. WAIT. Hope you all have a great weekend, and be kind to yourself- you deserve it.
