And just like that, Monday is upon us…again.
Before we get into the (sugar induced) post, I want to begin by saying I loved the discussion that arose from Friday’s post on how the Healthy Living Blogger community can at times, emulate the pettiness of high school. While I have not been oblivious to this, much of the post was inspired and initiated by a number of emails I’ve received over the past few weeks asking if I was aware of it or had dealt with it. Be sure to check out the comments section for some interesting views and opinions!
That aside, let’s jump into what has been a Marvellous weekend- Although I must admit, I’m feeling the side effects of the sugar I consumed. While I claim to be typically a savoury lad, this weekend tended to be the opposite- I don’t think I’ve had so much sugar in such a time span! But when it starts with gelato and ends with gelato….I’m not one to complain! When your weekend is fuelled by sugar? YOLO!

Marvellous is- Continuing to honour the Great Gelato Challenge (8 weeks in- 4 weeks to go!), this Friday night’s Gelato received the elusive 10. Yes, 10/10. The question is, which flavour was it? You’ll need to wait for the final recap!
Marvellous is- Moving away from the dark side (my typical ‘go to’ when it comes to Chocolate!) to this Lindt Caramel Brownie– friends, I would never consider one to eat chocolate and call it a meal. 1/3 of a block later- oh Lindt you can do no wrong (yet). Next week- I can already see the Lindt Cookies and Cream making it’s way into my shopping trolley!
I mean, I’d need to. It was hitting on me!
Marvellous is- Australian made Nut butter goodies sent by the amazing team at Mayvers! It was their crunchy peanut butter which were used in this recipe (which you should make- Already made a second batch!) and I’ve already sampled their chocolate peanut butter and their dark chocolate super spread (made up of peanuts, cashews, dark chocolate, cacao butter, brazil nuts, hazlenuts, chia and sesame seeds!) which may or may not be my new favourite nut butter at the moment!
Word on the street is there may or may not be an epic giveaway involving these amazing spreads. BOOM.
Marvellous is- Buying lame Australian chocolate to gift to international blends.
Marvellous is- Ending a sugar filled weekend with more sugar.
While I’ve been keeping my gelato consumption primarily from Gelato Messina as per the challenge, I couldn’t help but chuck this in my trolley to sample too.
Burnt Caramel and pecan? Yes. No false advertising in it’s name. The flavour combination was so good, I’m going to replicate it in waffle or pancake form. Stay tuned!
One of the two greatest outcomes since creating the Spill it, Sundays link up was not only to get to know bloggers outside of Food and Fitness, but to build connections with bloggers! Jen who blogs over at Chase The Red Grape is someone who has been an avid participant in this link up from the very beginning, and it’s been fantastic to connect with her, and pretend I understand her Crossfit lingo but embrace her meat hangovers!
