A while back, Niki thought it would be wise to agree to partake in a Paleo challenge.
It was not a wise decision.
So clearly, it wasn’t a success for her. She also suffered some backlash for it.
Anyway, she’s back today to show us how she cheated on the Paleo diet– with perhaps, the most anti paleo food known to man kind! Big props to Jenn for hosting!
Cheating evidence #1- Lunch– The Pancake Parlour is one of my absolute favourite joints and it’s helpful that it’s a 15 minute walk from home….not that I walk there. So it was a 3 minute drive. I ordered the cheese and chives pancakes with garlic butter melted on top. On the side I had a ‘Blue Heaven’ Milkshake. I’m not sure what ‘Blue Heaven’ is but it’s damn delicious. There was also a side salad too. By side salad, I mean mixed greens and something bitter.
Cheating evidence #2- The Fancy Bubblecup! See how pretty the glasses are? Maybe those are paleo. This was also the place I took advantage of the waitress’ lack of English knowledge. I ordered the peach strawberry milk tea with blueberry pearls. They are fruit..flavoured so pretty much paleo.
Cheating evidence #3- Dinner- Persian restaurants are popping up all over Melbourne and I’m loving it. Their prices? Not so much. My friend and I shared the chicken and lamb kebab platter which came with grilled tomatoes, grilled flatbread, a Persian yogurt side dish and enough buttered basmati rice to feed a country.
Just kidding, enough rice to feed 2 Persians. Seriously.
Cheating evidence #4- Dessert– Clearly all that rice and chicken was not enough because we needed dessert. The Persian restaurant offered us tea but that is NOT dessert. We opted for Max Brenner– My friend got the waffle with chocolate sauce and ice cream and I went pretty much PALEO!
I got the strawberries with melted dark chocolate which I asked for milk because dark chocolate is nasty. I also had a steamed chocolate drink which I was supposed to share with my friend, but I didn’t because she is lactose intolerant and if she wanted a drink, she should have had tea at the Persian restaurant.
I also ate her ice cream because as mentioned, she is lactose intolerant.
I am an amazing friend.
Looking back…Cheating never felt (or tasted) so good.
Have you ever had a ‘blue heaven’ milkshake?
Do you know what ‘blue heaven’ is supposed to taste like?
Are you considerate to your lactose intolerant friends?
