Oh hi, almost end of March.
I don’t want to be cliche and lament about how time is flying but yes…it is, and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.
It’s been an exciting few weeks, both professionally and personally. The most obvious being the release of my first cookbook, Clean Sweets. Since it’s release on March 14th, I’ve been floored with the love, support and positive feedback on it. I’ve loved seeing recreations shared on Instagram and Facebook, and those of you reaching out via email, text and carrier pidgeon.
When I first heard from my book editor and publishing team that my cookbook had become available for pre-release in bookstores and online, there was something I promised myself I wouldn’t do.
I promised myself that I would want all pre-sales and purchases to be organic. Yes, I definitely did some promotion on social media, but when it came to friends and family, I wanted them to buy it because THEY wanted to; not because it was encouraged or hinted on my end.
Since its release, I have been absolutely floored and touched that many of my blogging buddies have not only purchased their own copy but have shared it with their friends, shared it on social media and have personally reached out with how much they are enjoying the recipes.

I kind of suck at taking personal photos, but swiped these off my Instagram stories feed. Since my book deadline ended, I’ve been embracing the newer amount of freedom! Over the past few weeks, I’ve enjoyed several POKE lunch dates, a Persian dinner with my family and even trying out an overrated brunch place.
It was very overrated and the beetroot hummus was orange.
I’ll be bringing back more of these catch-up posts, especially with more news to come in the coming weeks!
