Line a square pan with parchment paper and sprinkle with the chopped almonds.
In a small saucepan, add the butter, sugar, and water and place over medium heat. Stir continuously until it reaches an internal temperature of 300F.
Transfer the candy to the pan and over the almonds and let it cool completely.
Once cool, microwave the chocolate in 20-second increments until smooth.
Pour over the hard candy and let it set. Once set, break it up into pieces.
