Prepare the coating by mixing together the cornmeal, flour, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk.
Dip each okra slice into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Then, dredge the okra in the cornmeal mixture, pressing lightly to ensure the coating sticks well.
Add the breaded okra to a greased air fryer basket and air fry for 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
