In a medium saucepan, add boiling water. Once boiling, add the pastina and cook for 4-4 1/2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once the pastina is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed, add the butter and parmesan cheese and gently mix until combined.
Season with salt and pepper and serve.

TO STORE: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days. TO FREEZE: Let leftovers cool completely, then store them in a shallow container in the freezer for up to three months. REHEATING: Microwave leftovers in 30-second intervals or rehat in a saucepan over medium heat until warm. Add a splash of water or broth if needed.
