This almond milk eggnog is every bit as creamy and rich as the traditional beverage, MINUS the dairy! Made with just five ingredients, this recipe takes less than a minute to make!

Following a dairy free diet during the holiday season does NOT mean you miss out on classic food and beverages.

Except for water, all of my favorite beverages use almond milk instead of a dairy based milk. Whether it be a milkshake, a latte, or a smoothie, the base for all of them is this fantastic dairy free milk.

When the holiday season rolls around, I enjoy all the popular seasonal drinks, albeit made dairy free. Pumpkin spice latte, peppermint mocha, and even a gingerbread latte are some of my favorites. However, nothing beats some delicious eggnog.

Is there almond milk eggnog?

Several companies have brought out eggnog made with almond milk, including Blue Diamond and Trader Joe’s. Unfortunately, they aren’t easily accessible to many people and are often hard to find. Luckily, making a homemade almond milk eggnog is SO easy!

This almond milk eggnog recipe takes less than a minute to make and is completely dairy free! There is no heavy cream or dairy needed, but you’d never tell. It’s perfectly sweet, rich, and creamy, and tastes like a mix between custard and flan!

With the popularity of almond milk rising and it becoming even more accessible, switch out your traditional milk in your eggnog for this. Pair it with some Christmas cookies for the ultimate dairy free dessert combination during the holiday season!

How to make almond milk eggnog?

The Ingredients.

  • Almond milk– Unsweetened almond milk or vanilla almond milk. If you use the latter, you can omit the vanilla extract.
  • Eggs– You must use pasteurized eggs, as they will not be cooked. If you don’t feel comfortable with raw eggs, you can ‘cook’ the eggnog stovetop.
  • Sugar– White or brown sugar.
  • Vanilla extract– Adds a subtle vanilla flavor.
  • Nutmeg and cinnamon– Warming spices that are perfect for eggnog.

The Instructions.

In a high speed blender or food processor, add all the ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve chilled.

Can I cook the eggs?

If you don’t feel comfortable using raw eggs or don’t have pasteurized eggs, you can follow the stovetop method. To do this, add all the ingredients into a small saucepan and place over low heat. Gently stir the mixture until it simmers. Once it simmers, consistently stir the egg nog for 3-4 minutes, before removing from the heat.

You can enjoy this eggnog warm or let it cool completely.

Tips to make the best recipe

  • If you want a refined sugar free eggnog, swap out the sugar for maple syrup or consider making keto eggnog.
  • For an alcoholic twist, add a shot of brandy, rum, or bourbon to it.
  • Ensure your almond milk is chilled prior to adding it to the blender.

Storing and freezing instructions

  • To store: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator, covered, for up to three days.
  • To freeze: Place the eggnog in an airtight container and store it in the freezer for up to 2 months.

Very nice! Would definitely recommend. I used barrista almond milk to make it more creamy. Had to read through the comments as it does use the whole egg, not just the yolk. I thought it was misprint! Glad someone else had already asked.

I love this. Call me weird but also I prefer my eggnog sans alcohol for some reason. I did use raw honey ~3 T for my sweetener.
