Just four easy ingredients are needed to make these delicious flourless apple pie blondies! These quick and easy blondies have no white flour, sugar, butter or oil yet are soft and fudgy! Naturally gluten-free, vegan, paleo and dairy free- A delicious snack or dessert recipe!
NOTE- Before someone tries to call me out and say there are FIVE ingredients listed, SPICES DON’T COUNT UNLESS A GIRL AND EITHER SCARY, BABY, GINGER, POSH OR SPORTY.
Off my soapbox now.
When I first started creating recipes on TBMW, I would usually eat it once or twice and then post it. It never really occurred to me that my taste buds would differ from other people.
Over the last year or so, I’ve ensured to have others try out my recipes before sharing on the blog. What tastes good in my books might taste like punishment for someone else. The only exception to that is Alexis whom would eat a bag of pebbles if covered in hummus.
Just kidding, she’d eat it regardless.
I’ve been grateful to have Alexis in close proximity the last month or so and making the most of her presence for a little while longer. Outside all the soppy friendship, love, rainbows and hummus shenanigans, she’s also my taste tester and (unpaid) quality control officer.
The 3 ingredient Pumpkin ‘fudge’? She tested it before posting.
The Banana bread English Muffins? She ate them cold, untoasted before posting.
The Death by chocolate protein bars? She ate them BEFORE we feasted and ate more after.
The 3 ingredient flourless brownies? Take a look at her ‘What I ate Wednesday’ eats.
The No Bake Salted Caramel Apple Slice? The story behind that is a bit too adult for this family friendly blog.
ALEXIS MADE OUT WITH IT.
Before you roll your eyes and think she’s the ONLY level of quality control I’ve been going through before sharing a recipe, you’d be wrong. Alexis’s bestie/epic roommate, Nikki has been unfortunate forced to try out the recipes too. Because Alexis’s brain is 3/4 filled with brussels sprouts, I don’t always trust her judgement. With Nikki, this isn’t the case.
When I passed Alexis half a pan of these healthy 4 ingredient flourless apple pie blondies, she asked for the recipe the very next day. I clearly thought she was joking and told her to jump in a lake of hummus. When she told me NIKKI had enjoyed them, my ears perked up. Nikki’s feedback > Alexis’s feedback.
Okay, let’s be real here. Anyone’s feedback > Alexis’s feedback. Anyway regardless- You NEED to make these healthy four ingredient flourless Apple Pie Blondies.
These healthy four ingredient flourless Apple Pie Blondies are the quick, easy and delicious dessert or snack recipe to have on hand. These soft, fudgy and the perfect cure for your sweet tooth. Unlike traditional blondies, these have no white flour, butter, white sugar or added oils, but use the combination of fruit, spices, and a dash of maple syrup for sweetness. The spice mix I used is the same I use for apple pie style desserts which give these blondies a delicious apple pie flavor! These are suitable for most dietary lifestyles- Paleo, gluten-free, vegan, refined sugar-free and dairy free! Once you remove it from the oven, it will still look undercooked. Allow it to cool completely and for the absolute best taste, refrigerate and enjoy cold- The taste is beyond amazing.
HACK! While they are delicious as they are (cold, from the fridge) they can be taken up a notch topped with the healthy salted caramel sauce from this recipe. I mean…the spillage.
Make this healthy four ingredient flourless apple pie blondies and let’s be thankful (pre-Thanksgiving) for having taste testers who put themselves through these shenanigans to the recipes here on TBMW are tested for delicious kitchen success.
Oh, and taste. Always taste.
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 cup almond or cashew butter (Can sub for peanut butter if not strictly paleo)
- 1/4 cup coconut flour, sifted*
- 3-4 T pure maple syrup*
- 1 T apple pie spice (a mixture of cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg)
- Optional- Coconut palm sugar + apple pie spice to top to form a small 'crust'
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and grease a baking tray**
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix very well until a very thick batter is formed. Transfer to the greased baking dish and bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until the tops are golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely. Refrigerate for at least an hour before slicing.
- Keep refrigerated.
- * Depending on the brand of coconut flour you use, you may need to add an extra tablespoon of coconut flour OR maple syrup to have the batter 'firm'.
- ** Your pan size does not matter- I only filled half a 9 x 9 inch pan and formed a rectangular shape.
Do you trust your tastebuds or need some ‘quality control?’
