This peanut butter coffee is a rich, dark, and smooth coffee flavored with creamy peanut butter! Perfect when served hot or cold, it’s like a fancy flavored latte!

When it comes to delicious coffee beverages, my favorite recipes to make are an oat milk latte, iced coffee, and this peanut butter coffee.
If there is one combination that I thought was pure magic, it was the chocolate and peanut butter one. My favorite candy, cakes, and desserts usually incorporated the two of them and no one would be able to sway me otherwise. That was until I tried the peanut butter and coffee combination.
As someone who loves coffee and obviously loves all things peanut butter, I had to try the combination together. Initially, I wanted to make a cake of some sort but thought I’d bring it back to basics. Inspired by the range of Starbucks beverages, I opted to blend them all together and was thrilled with the results. So much so, it’s been my go-to coffee beverage ever since.
I’ve been meaning to share a peanut butter coffee recipe for quite some time. It’s a cross between a latte and a mocha, and takes your morning caffeine hit to another level. Now, this coffee beverage may look incredibly fancy but I promise you, it is so easy to make!
No dairy and no sugar are needed but you’d never tell. The texture is smooth, rich, and perfectly chilled. It’s pleasantly sweet and with hints of peanut butter throughout, without being overpowering.
I had some friends over for coffee the other day and served this over ice and they thought it tasted like one of those fancy Starbucks drinks…minus the expensive price tag!
How do you make a peanut butter coffee?
The Ingredients
- Brewed coffee– Instant coffee that has been chilled for at least an hour. If you have an intolerance to caffeine, you can use decaffeinated coffee.
- Milk of choice– I used unsweetened almond milk, but any milk can be used.
- Granulated sweetener of choice– Erythritol, monk fruit sweetener, or allulose.
- Peanut butter– Smooth and creamy peanut butter with no added sugar.
- Ice– To serve.
The Instructions
Add all your ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until completely combined. Pour into two glasses filled with ice.
Tips to make the best peanut butter latte
- You must blend everything together, otherwise, the peanut butter will not be completely mixed into the liquids.
- If you’d prefer a hot coffee, you can microwave the blended coffee or heat it up in a small saucepan.
- For a chocolate flavored peanut butter coffee, add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
- If you’d like an adult style coffee, add 1-2 servings of Bailey’s Irish cream.
Storing and freezing peanut butter mocha
- To store: Coffee can be stored in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 2 weeks.
- To freeze: Place the coffee in ice cube trays or a shallow container and store it in the freezer for up to 6 months. When ready to drink, simply reblend it until completely smooth.

- 1/2 cup milk of choice
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sweetener of choice optional
Instructions
- In a high speed blender, add all your ingredients and blend until smooth.

Very tasty! I use natural, unhomogenized peanut butter and frequently have a chunk of peanut butter that didn’t get mixed with the oil. This recipe uses up that hard chunk.
I didn’t use any sweetener. The peanut butter supplies enough sweetness.

So delicious! I never would have thought to put peanut butter in my coffee. But wow! If you use a coffee blend with notes of chocolate, you don’t need to add cocoa powder! Bonus – if you make coffee ice cubes with that coffee and add a couple after blending, it ups the chocolate flavor and keeps it chilled as you drink. Such a good treat when you want something decadent but also want to avoid indulging.
I just made this, if your a PB lover is a must. I made two versions, one with Richards PB & one with PB2. I also added 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder and no sweetener. These fit into my goals for the day!!
Cheat and and Chit and and a tablespoon of whipping cream I used Hot coffee because I don’t like cold drinks very much. My stomach doesn’t tolerate it so it was so good with the almond milk in it peanut butter and I put my Stevia/with the tall sweetener in it and that 1 tablespoon of whipping cream and I used my little whipper and have myself a delicious evening drink It only put up the calories but 25 more and 1⁄2 of a carb. And it was worth it! thank
This is a combination I’ve always wanted to try myself, but I’ve had pretty lousy results trying to mix peanut butter into hot drinks in the past. Never thought to try it as iced coffee! I’ll bet it would make a nice protein shake too with some protein powder mixed in.
For a hot version, I wonder how mixing some peanut powder like PB2 into regular fresh coffee would go since all you need to turn it back into peanut butter is water. I must try this for science! 🙂
Hi Elly! 🙂 I’ve tried powdered peanut butter and it didn’t mix very well- However, if you blend it very well and re-whisk it, it should be fine ::) (Just blend well haha!)
