Switch up pizza night with my family’s favorite air fryer pizza recipe. Ready in 10 minutes, you’re guaranteed a crispy, golden crust and bubbly melted cheese every single time!

air fryer pizza.

If you’ve been here a while, you already know I have a mild obsession with my air fryer. I’ve been testing new recipes left and right (especially with my forthcoming air fryer cookbook), but somehow I’d never tried making air-fried pizzas- until now!

I’ll save you the suspense- they turned out PERFECT. It’s the quickest pizza recipe you’ll find (not including my air fryer pizza rolls), and it’s also the most foolproof. The crust turns out crispy yet soft, and the toppings are always perfectly cooked. My partner, who does not have the patience of a saint, prefers this to oven-baked pizzas- and he’s a big pizza snob!

★★★★★ – This worked out great! I had some homemade sourdough pizza dough on hand, so I made these for lunch! So much easier than heating up the whole oven, and they were delicious! – Adrienne

Key Ingredients

Here are some notes on the ingredients for air-fried pizza. The full list with measurements is in the recipe card below.

  • Pizza dough. Use any store-bought pizza dough OR make my 2-ingredient Greek yogurt dough. I like making my own because I can make a half-portion when I’m cooking for one, and I know exactly how it will turn out. Some readers mentioned struggling to fit
  • Pizza sauce. I use my Pomodoro sauce, but any marinara sauce or pizza sauce will work.
  • Cheese. I like to use two cheeses- buffalo mozzarella for the stretch and cheddar cheese for the flavor and richness.
  • Toppings. Anything and everything. Just avoid adding too much that the pizza falls apart!

How to make pizza in the air fryer

rolled out dough.

Step 1- Shape the dough. Roll out the dough to around 8 inches wide or to the size of your air fryer basket.

Step 2- Add toppings. Add pizza sauce over the top of the dough, reserving 1/4 inch around the sides. Add the cheese.

Step 3- Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until the crust is crisp and the cheese has melted.

Arman’s recipe tips

  • Assemble IN the air fryer. This is the kind of recipe that works best when everything is prepped in the air fryer. You can control the dough’s stretch, and you don’t need to worry about it falling apart as you transfer it into the basket (don’t ask me how I know).
  • Adjust the cooking times. Everyone’s air fryer is different, so yours may need a bit longer to cook. If you’re worried, check it at 8 minutes, then every 2 minutes until it’s done. I have three air fryers (Cosori, Philips XL, and Ninja), and they all bake between 8 to 9 minutes.
  • Leave some parchment paper sticking out. So you can carefully pull the pizza out using the parchment paper.
  • Don’t leave the pizza in the basket. The heat from the basket can burn the bottom of the pizza crust, so gently pull it out once it’s done cooking.
  • If you’re adding toppings, sprinkle a layer of cheese on top of them. Sometimes the toppings can fly off the pizza in the air fryer. If you add a layer of cheese on top, it’ll melt and anchor the toppings.
