Learn how to make the best keto coffee recipe that’s silky smooth and tastes JUST like a latte! Made with ZERO grams of net carbs.

This keto coffee is a breakfast staple

If there is one thing that’s pivotal to my morning going well, it’s coffee. Most of us can’t function without at least one cup a day, or if you’re like me, several. For those on a low-carb diet, I’ve devised the perfect keto-friendly recipe to get your daily fix while staying on track.
Blending coffee with coconut oil and butter creates a rich, creamy drink that feels more like a latte than a simple cup of coffee. Here’s why it’s a morning staple:
- Keeps me satisfied for hours. On busy mornings, it’s often enough to hold me over until lunch.
- Ready in minutes. Just add everything to a blender and blend until creamy and frothy.
- Easy to customize. Add your favorite sugar-free sweetener, flavored syrup, or keto coffee creamer.
Key Ingredients
Full measurements are in the recipe card below.
- Black coffee. Use a coffee you genuinely enjoy drinking since it’s the main flavor in this recipe. Freshly brewed coffee is my preference, but espresso or even instant coffee will work in a pinch.
- Coconut oil. Adds an extra layer of richness. MCT oil can also be used.
- Unsalted butter. I prefer the natural flavor of grass-fed butter.
- Heavy cream. I tested this recipe with both whole milk and cream. While both worked, heavy cream produced a noticeably richer, creamier coffee.
- Cinnamon. Just a pinch to add some warming flavors.
- Sugar substitute. Optional, but perfect if you like your coffee on the sweeter side. I usually reach for stevia or a brown sugar substitute.
Arman’s tip before starting
No blender? No problem! While a blender creates the frothiest texture, I’ve also made this keto coffee with an immersion blender and even a handheld milk frother with great results.
How to make keto coffee
Step 1- Blend. Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend for 30-40 seconds, until smooth and frothy.
Step 2- Serve. Carefully pour the coffee into a coffee mug, then scoop out the foam on top.

Recipe variations
- Make it dairy-free. Use full-fat canned coconut milk.
- Cut the caffeine. Use decaffeinated coffee.
- Add sugar-free syrup. Try one ounce of vanilla, salted caramel, hazelnut, mocha, or keto simple syrup.
- Or try extracts. Add one teaspoon of vanilla, peppermint, or almond extract.

What’s the reason behind scooping the foam off the top? Just curious. Great recipe! Thanks!
Hi Melissa- you’ll notice there’s foam at the base, which works as a lovely frothy topping to pour over the top 🙂
I was very skeptical of this when I saw coconut oil and butter to be honest. It was sooo good. Blending it does make all the difference in the texture of the drink. I did add 6 tsp of monk fruit sugar and a tsp of vanilla extract to make it more tasty for my sweet tooth. (I added this to the two cup recipe 16oz of coffee). It was quite delicious and added no extra carbs or calories to my morning routine. Thanks!!
I’m very new to this keto coffee and am wondering it’s 135 for 1/2 a cup of coffee. I am very soda heavy trying to stop drinking soda.
Thanks
Hi Jo, this batch can serve 2 people as the volume increases when the ingredients are blended together. It depends how much you like your coffee though, as to whether you’re willing to share it with anyone else 🙂
Really like this Keto Coffee recipe. I added 2 squirts of liquid Vanilla Stevia in order to make it pleasant to drink.
So delicious!
I was suspect of adding butter to my coffee and I am dairy free so I used Ghee instead. So good!
Thank you for sharing your ideas!

BEST keto coffee ever!
I have a stupid question. I stopped drinking coffee because of the caffeine. I do though like a cup of hot chocolate when it cold here in MN so could I use this or any of the coffee toppings in hot chocolate-I believe I got a hot chocolate recipe here on your site.
Thank you for your time!
You can or make my keto hot chocolate!
Definitely the best way to enjoy coffee!! I don’t add the heavy cream because I don’t buy it, but it is rich enough without it. But, for me that 1 cup is a half serving!! 😉 I really have to quit being lazy and make some of your delicious mug recipes to go with it. 🙂 ~Thanks, Arman
