This keto ranch dressing is a low-carb, sugar-free take on the classic dressing. Ready in 5 minutes, I love using it on salads, as a dip, or as a delicious sauce! 1 gram of net carbs per serving.

I put ranch on literally everything. Ask anyone in my family, and they’ll confirm. When I’m keto, I try to make my favorite sauces and dips from scratch. Not to toot my own horn, but this keto-friendly version is even better than the classic ranch, and it has a fraction of the carbs.
Is ranch dressing keto?
Unfortunately, traditional ranch dressing is not keto-friendly. Most generic brands contain added sugar and buttermilk, both of which add tons of carbs.

Why I love this recipe
- Way healthier. No unhealthy seed oils, added sugar, or fillers are needed, and there’s only 1 gram of net carbs per serving.
- And it tastes better, too. It’s creamy, tangy, slightly sweet, and has a subtle spicy kick.
- Endlessly versatile. From dipping fresh veggies to drizzling on salads and pizza, there’s no end to what you can do with this ranch keto ranch dressing recipe. I’ll give you plenty of suggestions later on.
- Simple ingredients. No niche or hard-to-find ingredients are needed.
Ingredients needed
- Mayonnaise. Full fat and whole egg mayonnaise with no added sugar. I like to make my own keto mayo, but store-bought ones are fine. No mayo? Try sour cream.
- Heavy cream. A lower carb alternative to buttermilk, this gives the dressing extra creaminess, minus the tang.
- White vinegar. Adds a dash of tartness, which balances out the mayonnaise.
- Garlic. A clove of garlic that has been finely minced.
- Chives. Fresh or dried chives. I prefer fresh chives, as they have a more intense flavor.
- Paprika. Smoked paprika for a kick of spice and smoky flavor.
- Salt and pepper. To taste.
How to make keto ranch dressing
I’ve included step-by-step photos below to make this recipe easy to follow at home. For the full printable recipe instructions and ingredient quantities, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Step 1- Combine ingredients. In a mixing bowl, add all of the ingredients and stir until smooth.
Step 2- Store. Transfer the mixture to a mason jar and shake until fluffy and silky. Use immediately or store for later use.
Ways to use low carb ranch dressing
I’ve eaten ranch by the spoonful more times than I’m willing to admit, but it’s definitely better used in your favorite dishes!
- Use it as a salad dressing in keto pasta salad.
- Serve as a dipping sauce along with fresh veggies, keto chicken wings, or keto chicken nuggets.
Add flavor to chicken bacon ranch casserole (AKA keto crack chicken) or in keto buffalo chicken dip.
Recipe tips and variations
- Adjust the seasonings. Give the sauce a taste, and add more salt and pepper if needed. If you plan on serving the ranch with something salty, keep the spices to a minimum.
- Make it dairy-free. Use vegan mayo and swap the heavy cream for a plant-based alternative like coconut milk or unsweetened almond milk.
- Thin it out. For a thinner dressing, add extra heavy cream and whisk until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Make it spicy. Add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
- Add extra spices. For a more intense flavor, I like to add ½ teaspoon each of garlic powder and onion powder.
Storage instructions
To store: Ranch dressing will keep well in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 1 week.
To freeze: Place the leftover ranch in a freezer-friendly container and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Vry creamy and spicy, I think I used a bit too much garlic I grated instead of mincing it, the smoked paprika gave a nice flavor.
