These air fryer egg bites turn out light, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. They’re high protein and SO easy to make. My family swears they’re better than Starbucks!
If you need eggs on the fly, try my microwave hard boiled eggs, air fryer soft boiled eggs, or egg white omelette next.

When Starbucks first launched their egg bites, I was first in line. But after a while, the quality became…so-so.
Ever since I started making sous vide egg bites, I haven’t looked back. Lately, my family’s been asking me to play around with making them in the air fryer. You don’t need to ask me twice!
Why I love this recipe
- Customizable. Use whatever cheese, meat, or veggies you want. You can even make them low-calorie by using only egg whites.
- Meal prep worthy. You can store the cooked egg bites in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze them for up to 6 months. I usually make them on Sunday, so I don’t have to think about breakfast on busy mornings.
- Better than Starbucks egg bites. They’re made with fewer ingredients, they’re cheaper, and the texture is FAR superior.
- Healthy. They’re naturally gluten-free, low carb, and each egg bite packs over 7 grams of protein.
Key ingredients
- Eggs. You’ll need 5 whole eggs or ⅔ cup of cartoned egg whites.
- Greek yogurt. For texture and moisture. If you like the flavor of cottage cheese eggs, substitute plain cottage cheese instead.
- Salt and black pepper. To taste.
- Spinach. For color and a few extra grams of fiber. Use fresh spinach for the best texture.
- Cheese. I used shredded cheddar cheese, but any cheese will do.
- Bacon. It’ll need to be cooked until crispy and chopped into small cubes. I used regular bacon, but air fryer turkey bacon also works.
- Shallot. I prefer shallots over onions in breakfast dishes since they’re milder and have a slightly sweeter flavor.
How to make egg bites in the air fryer
I’ve included step-by-step photos below to make this recipe easy to follow at home. For the full printable recipe instructions and ingredient quantities, scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
Step 1- Prep. Preheat the air fryer, gather ingredients, and grease the egg molds.
Step 2- Mix. Stir together the eggs, yogurt, and seasonings.
Step 3- Assemble. Portion the spinach, cheese, bacon, and shallots into the silicone molds. Place the molds into the air fryer basket and pour the egg mixture evenly into each of the molds.
Step 4- Air fry. Air fry until the egg bites rise and become slightly brown. Serve them warm with a garnish of fresh herbs.
Arman’s recipe tips
- Preheat the air fryer! I’m guilty of not always doing this, but it is key to helping ensure the eggs cook evenly.
- Blend the eggs. You want the yogurt and egg mixture to be as smooth as possible, and I find a blender makes quick work of mixing the two.
- Don’t overcook the egg bites. Otherwise, you’ll end up with dry, rubbery eggs. My rule of thumb is to remove them from the air fryer when they’re soft and bounce back slightly when you press them.
Variations
- Bacon gruyère. Swap the cheddar for gruyère cheese.
- Mediterranean. Swap the bacon for chicken, use feta cheese, and add bell peppers.
- Ham and swiss. Use ham for the meat and use swiss cheese.
- Sausage. Use turkey sausage or chicken sausage for the meat and add green onion.
- Veggies. Omit the meat and add finely chopped vegetables (I like zucchini, garlic, mushroom, and broccoli).

So this I can really make in air fryer? Eggs can be made there?
Thanks for sharing these air fryer egg bites, Arman. Made them this morning but used arugula instead of spinach. Absolutely delish.
