I have a mild obsession with Nutella recipes, and as far as I’m concerned, Nutella desserts should always have a place at the table. Some of my favorite ways to use this chocolate hazelnut spread are cookies, brownies, and these no-bake Nutella bites.
Like my cookie dough bites, these come together in just a few minutes, plus time to set in the fridge. They couldn’t be easier to make, and everyone you share them with will surely be impressed.

Ingredients needed
As mentioned earlier, only 4 easy-to-find ingredients are needed to make your chocolate lover’s dream come true. Here’s exactly what you’ll need:
- Nutella. While any chocolate spread will work, I’m partial to the creamy texture and hazelnut flavor from Nutella. Make your own or use the store-bought stuff.
- Coconut flour. To soak up the moisture and keep the chocolate balls firm and rollable. If you’re not a fan of coconut flour, you can swap it for oat flour or almond flour. Just keep in mind you might need a little more since other types of flour are not as absorbent as coconut flour.
- Milk. Just a teaspoon’s worth will help the Nutella and flour mix together. I prefer unsweetened almond milk, but any dairy or non-dairy milk will work.
- Chocolate chips. To add texture and an extra layer of chocolatey goodness.
How to make Nutella bites
It only takes 5 minutes plus an hour or so of refrigeration time to make these indulgent Nutella bites. Here’s how it’s done:
Step 1- Prep work: Line a large plate with parchment paper and set it aside.
Step 2- Combine the ingredients: Add Nutella, coconut flour, and milk to a large mixing bowl and mix until a thick dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 3- Form the balls: Using slightly wet hands, roll out the mixture into bite-sized balls. Place them on the lined plate and refrigerate for at least one hour to firm up.
Recipe tips and variations
- Use an ice cream scoop. This will help to evenly portion the chocolate balls.
- Freeze the Nutella bites for 30 minutes. Instead of refrigerating the Nutella bites, freeze them for half the time. Just make sure to pull them out before they freeze.
- Swap the flour for protein powder. To make protein-rich Nutella bites.
- Make healthy energy bites. Stir in quick oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, or ground flax seeds to add fiber and protein, helping you stay energized all day long.
- Toss the Nutella bites in cocoa powder. To add an extra layer of rich chocolate flavor.
- Switch up the chocolate chips. Use dark chocolate, white chocolate, or peanut butter chips instead.
- Play around with mix-ins. Try stirring in nut butter, chopped nuts, coconut flakes, or a little peppermint or vanilla extract to totally transform these Nutella bites.
Storage instructions
To store: Because of the milk, it’s best to store the balls in the fridge. Keep them in an airtight container with layers of parchment paper between them to prevent sticking, and they’ll stay good for up to one week.
To freeze: Store leftovers in a freezer-safe container between sheets of parchment paper and freeze them for up to 6 months. Let frozen leftovers thaw overnight in the fridge before enjoying.

Nutella is unfortunately not vegan, but I haven’t had the time to find a chocolate hazelnut butter spread, either! Definitely will be on the lookout for one! 😀

I used to skip breakfast back when I was a much younger version of myself. In my head, that was a way to be healthy since it was just less calories. Oh, I was so confused back then when it came to eating right. Speaking of eating right, I need to eat these Nutella bites right now!
